CYPSEC 2024: Engaging with the European Cybersecurity Community

CYPSEC 2024, held on 5 November in Nicosia, Cyprus, once again brought together leading experts, researchers, policymakers and industry representatives to discuss the latest developments shaping the future of cybersecurity. Over the years, CYPSEC has established itself as one of the region's most recognised conferences dedicated to digital security, providing a collaborative environment where innovative technologies, emerging cyber threats and practical approaches to strengthening resilience can be openly discussed.

As cyber threats continue to evolve in both complexity and scale, events such as CYPSEC play an increasingly important role in encouraging dialogue between public authorities, research organisations and private companies. The conference offers participants the opportunity to exchange knowledge, present innovative solutions and identify common challenges affecting organisations across Europe. By bringing together specialists from different sectors, CYPSEC contributes to building a stronger and more connected cybersecurity community capable of responding effectively to the rapidly changing digital landscape.

During the 2024 edition, 8Bells, one of the partners of the EUCINF project, actively participated in the event through the presence of Stelios Erotokritou, who welcomed visitors at the company's exhibition booth. This participation provided an excellent opportunity to introduce attendees to the objectives of EUCINF while exchanging views with cybersecurity professionals, researchers and technology providers from across Europe.

Throughout the event, discussions focused on the importance of cooperation in addressing current cybersecurity challenges, as well as the need to develop innovative approaches capable of improving Europe's resilience against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. The exhibition environment also encouraged valuable networking opportunities, allowing project partners to establish new connections and strengthen relationships with organisations working in complementary research and innovation initiatives.

Participation in conferences such as CYPSEC forms part of EUCINF's wider communication and dissemination strategy, ensuring that the project's activities remain visible within the European cybersecurity ecosystem while promoting collaboration between academia, industry and public institutions. These interactions help create opportunities for knowledge exchange, encourage future cooperation and support the dissemination of research activities among relevant stakeholder communities.

As cybersecurity becomes increasingly intertwined with information integrity, artificial intelligence and hybrid threats, maintaining strong links with specialised communities is essential for fostering innovation and ensuring that research initiatives continue to address real operational needs. Events like CYPSEC therefore provide an ideal platform for strengthening partnerships and encouraging dialogue between organisations committed to enhancing Europe's digital resilience.

By participating in CYPSEC 2024, the EUCINF consortium further reinforced its commitment to supporting collaboration, promoting technological innovation and contributing to a safer, more resilient and interconnected European cybersecurity landscape. Through continued engagement with the wider cybersecurity community, EUCINF remains dedicated to encouraging cooperation, sharing knowledge and supporting the development of innovative solutions capable of addressing the complex challenges facing Europe's digital future.
